Trace 5,000 years of Egyptian civilisation across Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, and Alexandria on this 10-day Egyptian heritage tour. An Egyptologist guide leads you from the Giza Pyramids and Sphinx to Karnak Temple, the Valley of the Kings, Abu Simbel, and a classic Nile River cruise between Luxor and Aswan.

Finish with a full day on Egypt's Mediterranean coast in Alexandria: the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, Pompey's Pillar, Qaitbay Citadel, and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Ideal for travellers who want the classic Egypt itinerary with private support, domestic flights, and curated Nile cruise nights.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Arrive at Cairo International Airport. Your Eleganza representative meets you for immigration assistance, baggage claim, and transfer to your Cairo hotel. Meet your Egyptologist, who stays with you for the full Egyptian heritage tour.

Stand before the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, the Pyramid of Menkaure, and the Great Sphinx on the Giza Plateau. Continue to the Egyptian Museum for Tutankhamun treasures and pharaonic artefacts, then explore Khan El Khalili bazaar in historic Islamic Cairo.

Fly from Cairo to Luxor. Visit Karnak Temple, dedicated to Amun and once linked to Luxor Temple by the Avenue of Sphinxes. In the afternoon, board your Nile River cruise for four nights of Upper Egypt sailing.

Cross to Luxor's West Bank for the Valley of the Kings, the mortuary temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, and the Colossi of Memnon. Return onboard for lunch and dinner as the cruise continues south.

Tour the Temple of Horus at Edfu, one of Egypt's best-preserved Ptolemaic temples. Sail to Kom Ombo for the twin temple of Sobek and Horus overlooking the Nile. Evening galabeya party onboard.

Early departure across the desert to Abu Simbel, Ramses II's rock-cut temples relocated for the Aswan High Dam. Afternoon felucca sail on the Nile near Aswan before overnight onboard.

Disembark in Aswan. Visit the Aswan High Dam and Philae Temple of Isis on Agilkia Island. Transfer to Aswan Airport for your flight back to Cairo and hotel check-in.

Explore the 12th-century Citadel of Saladin and the Mosque of Muhammad Ali. Continue through Islamic Cairo and Khan El Khalili craft souks. Optional Grand Egyptian Museum visit available at extra cost.

Private transfer to Alexandria with your guide. Visit the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, Pompey's Pillar, Qaitbay Citadel on the harbour, and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Seafood lunch by the coast, then return to Cairo.

Breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to Cairo International Airport for your departure flight.
